Our thanks to Madeleine for the gift of her hospitality.
The table was ready and the fireplace aglow with welcoming warmth.
Everyone brought a delicious addition to share
as Bill carved the free range turkey.
Gather round, its time to give thanks and eat.
Help yourselves, there's plenty and it's really good.
At the same time,
we do not take for granted how fortunate we really are.
After dinner we engage in community and conversation.
Earth Elders founder, Connie Mahoney (bottom left), is a model
of elder courage as she endures cancer treatments
with the strength of her smile.
Jim, Bill, Nina and Ruth were kind enough
to let me
experiment
on them with
my new camera.
Later on we sang Christmas Carols
and Hanukkah Songs by candlelight.
