EARTH DAY
AT OCEAN SONG

We arrived early to set up.
 
 
Earth Elders, Real Goods, GMO Free Sonoma County,
and The Big Dadoo Puppet Crew,
  
along with some others we were happy to see.
 
Learning was there too,
 
with workshops in subjects like; Permaculture,
Wild & Useful Plants, and Natural Building.
  
The Big Sur Natives were there.
  
Desirae Harp, Dianne Patterson,
and Betty Bio-Diesel were there.
  
Truth and beauty in abundance,
(Desirae, Julia Butterfly, and Choqosh)
  
and in many forms.
 
For instance.
  
Sacred Spirit Dancers
 
And then,
 
when Sambada played, everyone had to dance.
 
What a fulfilling day it was.

As I looked around I realized the timeless spirit of this event. Here was the best part of the sixties, the thirties, the twenties, and perhaps the eighteen eighties. In every generation those who feel the joy and power of loving community will seek to be together, to celebrate the possibility of such a world. Although peaceful collaboration for a sustainable Earth may seem remote, gatherings like this at Ocean Song help us to sustain the vision.
